"The inquiry should be held by the Supreme Court itself. Our demand is not related to the rift in the SC. An independent timebound probe is necessary to bring out the truth in the case,” AICC spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.
NEW DELHI: A day after son of the late judge Brijgopal Harkishan Loya, Anuj Loya, ruled out suspicion over his father’s death, the Congress reiterated its demand for a SC-monitored probe into the CBI judge’s death. The Congress released copies of letters written by Justice Loya’s family members, including a purportedly handwritten letter of Anuj, in February 2015, to the editor of a publication raising questions about his father’s death and alleging a conspiracy.

“Various contradictory statements on the death of Justice Loya are reasons enough for a probe…We are not politicising Justice Loya’s death. There must be a court-monitored probe into his death. The inquiry should be held by the Supreme Court itself. Our demand is not related to the rift in the SC. An independent timebound probe is necessary to bring out the truth in the case,” AICC spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said at an official AICC news conference in New Delhi on Monday.

“Questions raising doubts about the death of judge is a very important issue. The decision to probe into it is not depending on the contradictory statements some people are making on it...,” he added.
