Congress adopting different yardsticks in A N Sharma case : BJP
BJP today came down heavily on Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh over his remarks that the government would go ahead with prosecution of BJP leader P K Dhumal.

SHIMLA: The BJP today came down heavily on Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh over his remarks that the government would go ahead with prosecution of BJP leader P K Dhumal in former IPS officer A N Sharma case, saying it was adopting different yardsticks in similar cases.
The government has acted fast in proceeding against former chief minister, Dhumal in the A N Sharma case, while in a similar case of Krishan Dev, who had resigned from his job to contest elections in 2007 along with A N Sharma, but rejoined after his nominations were rejected, the government did not proceed against him, BJP spokesman Randhir Sharma said.
Sharma also expressed his dismay over reported remarks of Singh that the state was not under Governor's rule.
"No one has ever said about Governor's rule. The BJP presented a memorandum to the Governor after the Youth Congress workers led by Vikramaditya Singh, son of Chief Minister, attacked the BJP office and twelve BJP workers were injured in the clash.
"The Governor discharged his constitutional duty by calling for the report from the police," he said.
Congress was trying to undermine the position of the Governor and intimidating him, he alleged.
