'Cong, PDP responsible for recent Amarnath land row'
Farooq Abdullah said Cong is responsible for Amarnath land row.
"The coalition government of Congress and PDP are responsible for the Amarnath land row which gave vent to religion and regional divide in the state," Abdullah said while addressing a public meeting here on Saturday.
Attempts are being made by some vested interest political groups to divide the state on communal and regional lines little realising that the strength of the nation is its secularism, he said.
"It is high time that we should isolate such forces who are bent upon to create wedge among communities and regions," he said.
"We have to stand up against such forces so that the basic structure of our civilization and country can be saved," he said.
Abdullah said National Conference is a party committed to communal harmony, brotherhood and equitable distribution of resources among all the three regions of the state.
"Me and my party has a dream of transforming the destiny of the state and its people and if voted to power, National Conference will usher an era of unparallel unprecedented development in the state and open new avenues of employment," he said.
Referring to weather conditions, Abdullah said the inclement weather will not permit the poll process to be conducted smoothly. "We strongly recommend that the EC should take notice of the inclement weather and postpone the elections to March-April 2009," he said.
