Cong forms 9 committees to monitor UPA schemes in UP

In a bid to corner BSP government in UP Congress has formed nine committees to monitor the flagship schemes of UPA government.

LUCKNOW: In a bid to corner BSP government in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the 2012 Assembly polls over poor implementation of central schemes, the Congress has formed nine committees to monitor the flagship schemes of UPA government.

"Nine committees, headed by retired bureaucrats, doctors and social workers associated with the party have been entrusted with the task of monitoring implementation of central schemes and detect anomalies," a senior part leader said.

He said that while nine committees have been finalised till now, more committees would be formed in the days to come for the job.

The nine committees will monitor implementation of NRHM, Bundelkhand package, NREGA, Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification program, Integrated Child Development service (ICDS), JNNURM, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan as well as Mid Day Meal Scheme.
