The Congress filed a police complaint on Wednesday and held massive protests against BJP leaders, including Union minister Ravneet Singh Bittu, over their statements against Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.

The protesters shouted slogans, burned effigies, stood on barricades while protesting against the BJP as the police tried to control the crowd. The protest against Bittu extended beyond the national capital, with party members staging demonstrations across the country.

Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Maken filed a police complaint against Bittu, Delhi BJP leader Tarvinder Singh Marvah, Shiv Sena's (Shinde) Sanjay Gaikwad, and Uttar Pradesh minister Raghuraj Singh.

The complaint said that their statements are attempts to undermine Gandhi's safety and disrupt public peace, particularly in light of the ongoing elections in Jammu & Kashmir and Haryana.
