Govind Singh Dotasra, Pradesh Congress Committee president of Rajasthan, and CLP leader Tikaram Jully alleged on Monday that BJP leaders started "manipulation" of the list after January 3, with the aim of removing the names of Opposition supporters. They also claimed that "fake computerised forms" were being used for the purpose.
"On January 3, BJP's national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh visited Rajasthan, held a meeting there, and then the process of fraudulently adding and removing votes from the draft list started," Dotasra said at a presser here.
Dotasra claimed that about 15,000 "fake computerised forms" were printed in every assembly constituency for the purpose.
"All BJP MLAs and former party candidates are called, including ministers. On the 13th, 14th and 15th, thousands of forms are distributed in every assembly constituency to remove names from the voter list - this work is specifically targeted at those assembly constituencies where Congress won the election," he alleged.
According to Dotasra, in Jhunjhunu, 13,882 Form 7 applications for name removal were received in a single day. The number was 16,276 in Mandawa, 1,241 in Udaipurwati and 1,478 in Khetri.
