New Delhi: BJP on Thursday alleged Congress and Aam Aadmi Party tried to incite people or were “selectively silent” on the violence in the capital while BJP top leadership had emphasised on protecting rights of Muslims born in India.

I&B minister Prakash Javadekar alleged that on December 14 Congress chief Sonia Gandhi ‘incited the crowd’ saying “is paar ya us paar (to be either this side or the other side). AAP leaders Amanatullah Khan and senior Congress leaders tried to instigate people for the last two months which caused the present riots.”

He also referred to remarks of AIMIM leader Waris Pathan, without naming him, that “15 crore will prevail over 100 crore Hindus”. Javadekar claimed his party leadership had maintained decorum.

“PM Modi had said Muslims born on Indian soil have equal rights (in context of CAA). Home minister Amit Shah had declared that every Indian Muslim has the same rights as he has while defence minister Rajnath Singh had said Muslims are close to his heart.”
