While Nagaland Governor RN Ravi will inaugurate the conference on September 5, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphu Rio will preside over the conference.

GUWAHATI: The 26th conference of the DGPs and IGPs of the eight North-eastern states will be held in Dimapur with a two day programme on September 5.

While Nagaland Governor RN Ravi will inaugurate the conference on September 5, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphu Rio will preside over the conference.

Top police official of all these northeastern states, and heads of the Central agencies like the Intelligence Bureau are also likely to attend the conference.

Issues like the security along the international border, role of social media and its influence on law and order problems, inter-state boundary issues and issues of sharing of information between different agencies for better coordination are likely to be the key points for discussion during the conference.

The conference was started in early 80s and has not only provided a platform to the law enforcing agencies in the region but also helped the different agencies to effectively handle the expanding network of militant outfits in the region.
