Complete let-down by CBI: BJP on Aarushi case

NEW DELHI: BJP today termed as "complete let-down" the CBI filing closure report in the Aarushi murder case and alleged that the agency shows "extra interest" in cases like those against RSS leader Indresh and former Gujarat Minister Amit Shah.

"CBI's closure report in Aarushi case is a complete let-down," Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj said in a tweet.

BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman expressed "absolute shock and dismay" at the CBI decision.

"We are very disappointed with this as when it comes to investigating cases against Amit Shah and Indresh, the CBI shows a special and extra interest. They try to build-up a case where there is none but where there was injustice, a 14-year old girl was murdered, closure of case is absolute injustice," she said.

CBI had yesterday informed a court in Ghaziabad that it wishes to file a disclosure report in the murder cases of Aarushi and Hemraj.

"Aarushi did not get justice, her parents did not get it, justice did not get justice... CBI's professionalism is completely lost. We express our objection to this," Sitharaman said.
