Supreme Court lawyer Jai Anant Dehadrai Thursday appeared before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and recorded his statement in connection with its inquiry against Trinamool Congress Party (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra in the alleged 'cash for query' scandal.

Before entering the CBI office, Dehadrai told media persons that the matter is sub judice.

Moitra was expelled from the Lok Sabha last month following an ethics committee report into the 'cash for query' charges against her.

Dehadrai, the complainant, had in October last year placed the evidence against Moitra before the LS ethics committee. The CBI had launched an inquiry into the case after receiving a letter from the Lokpal.

Moitra, who is 49, was expelled from the LS on December 8 following a resolution passed by the House in wake of a recommendation of her disqualification by the ethics committee.

The panel's recommendation followed a complaint by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who alleged that Moitra had accepted cash in exchange for asking certain questions in Parliament.
