GUWAHATI: Tripura chief minister, Biplab Kumar Deb on Monday said communists across India are trying to destroy the culture and civilization of India.

Deb while speaking at the conference of Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana in Guwahati said, “Communist attempted to destroy the culture of Tripura however they were not successful as people of the state shunned communist thinking and welcomed the ancient Indian culture.”

He added, “The communists have created a batch of goons instead of cadres and trying hard to destroy the Indian culture and civilization. The communists want to gag the peoples’ voice and mislead them. Unlike the communists’ allegation, BJP is not trying to saffronize the country but it is the communists who unsuccessfully tried to make the whole world ‘red," said Deb.
