Australia on Monday said there was a "high risk" of an extremist attack during the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, in a travel warning that follows a gun attack on tourists in the Indian capital.

SYDNEY: Australia on Monday said there was a " high risk" of an extremist attack during the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, in a travel warning that follows a gun attack on tourists in the Indian capital.

"There is a high risk of terrorist attack in New Delhi," said the updated travel bulletin from Australia's foreign department.

"Australians in New Delhi should be aware that the Commonwealth Games will be held in a security environment where there is a high risk of terrorism," it added.
