Khaplang faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN), the United Liberation Front of Asom (Independent), the Songbijit faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB), Kamatapur Liberation Organisation has formed a common platform to fight against India. This platform is floated in the lines of erstwhile Indo Burma Revolutionary Front.
The group has declared itself as United national liberation front of WESEA( UNLFW) to have united and total struggle to liberate the ancestral homes in the Western South Asia.
Assam DGP Khagen sarma told ET, "Coming together of militants demonstrates that they are weak individually therefore they are joining hands. Earlier also these outfits have tried to come under common platform however they could not succeed."
He said that anti talk ULFA want to get help of Khaplan faction. "However security forces will thwart any subversive activity by these outfits."
Khaplang faction which has recently aborted the ceasefire with government of India is providing shelter, logistics and safe passage in Myanmar. Khaplang has camps in Taga region of Myanmar.
Sources said that the common platform is the initiative of the chairman of the NSCN-K, SS Khaplang and elusive anti talk ulfa’s commander in chief Paresh Baruah. "They are now looking to rope in Manipur and Meghalaya based militant outfits under the platform."
