GUWAHATI: Scared that its MLAs will be poached, All India United Democractic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal asks party candidates to come with passport in review meeting of the party on Sunday.

Ajmal has asked 71 candidates who contested recently held assembly polls to come to the review meeting with passport. AIUDF will have stock taking meeting on Sunday.

Ajmal is scared that its MLAs will be targeted for horse trading in the event of hung assembly in Assam.

Senior AIUDF leader told ET, “We are asked to bring our passports in the meeting. Those who do not have passports are getting it prepared. AIUDF leadership plans to take MLAs post May 19 result to Dubai.We are not sure if we will made to deposit our passports.”

AIUDF leadership worried as in past couple of AIUDF MLAs has deserted the party in Rajya Sabha elections.
