CHANDIGARH: Cold conditions today prevailed in Punjab and Haryana with minimum temperature settling below normal at several places in the region.

In Punjab, Amritsar was the coldest place recording a low of 7 deg Celsius, down by two notches, a MeT report said.

Ludhiana and Patiala recorded respective below normal minimums at 9 deg Celsius and 10.5 deg Celsius.

Among other places in Haryana, Hisar and Karnal braved cold weather at 8.8 deg Celsius and 7.5 deg Celsius, down by up to three degrees below normal.

Ambala recorded a low of 12.9 deg Celsius while Narnaul's low settled at 9 deg Celsius, the report said.

Cloudy weather prevailed in Chandigarh today, with night temperature here settling at 12.4 deg Celsius, it said.
