Cognizant gets hoax bomb call, employees sent home

CHENNAI: A anonymous telephone call that a bomb was planted in the office of IT solutions giant Cognizant Technology Solutions in Madras Export Processing Zone campus at suburban Tambaram Sanatorium here turned out to be a hoax.

Soon after the call was received, police was alerted by Cognizant officials and employees were asked to leave the premises to facilitate search by police and to avoid panic.

"A thorough check was made. Sniffer dogs were also pressed into service. There was no bomb or any other explosive substance at Cognizant," police told PTI.
