Coca cola godown attacked in Kerala

Suspected DYFI activists today ransacked a godown of softdrinks major at Chemanchery in Koyilandy taluk in the district after four children, who reportedly had the drink a few days ago, complained of nausea and were hospitalised today.

KOZHIKODE: Suspected DYFI activists today ransacked a godown of softdrinks major at Chemanchery in Koyilandy taluk in the district after four children, who reportedly had the drink a few days ago, complained of nausea and were hospitalised today.

According to police, about 25 Democratic Youth Federation of India volunteers took out a protest march in the area around 6.30 pm and attacked the godown of Coca Cola and a retail shop adjacent to it.

There were reports that the children complained of nausea and stomach ache after they had the drink on Monday. They were rushed to the Medical College hospital this evening from the Koyilandy Government hospital after their condition turned worse, the sources said.

A case had been booked and search was on to trace the culprits responsible for the attack, police added.

When contacted rpt contacted, hospital sources said the condition of the children was "stable" although they still complained of vomiting.
