Coast Guard Director General visits Mandapam station

RAMESWARAM: Coast Guard Director General Vice Admiral H C S Bisht today visited the force's station at Mandapam here and inspected the Palk Strait, south and north sea adjoining this island during his maiden visit after assuming charge.

Coast Guard sources said he discussed with officials thesecurity issues, including change in the situation after the war between the Sri Lankan army and LTTE was over.

He also visited Sri Ramanathaswamy temple and offered prayers.

Bisht took over as the 21st Director General of Coast Guard on February 1, succeeding Vice-Admiral Anurag G Thapliyar.
