CM K Chandrasekhar Rao Dials Oppn Leaders to Strengthen Attack on BJP on Economy Issues
The TRS MPs will also flag problems regarding the implementation of the NREGA (rural employment guarantee) scheme. "The state has emerged as a leader in paddy production in the last few years. Instead of encouraging the state, the Central govern...

According to party sources, Rao spoke to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Bihar RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, UP opposition Leader Akhilesh Yadav, and other national opposition leaders including Sharad Pawar. He also reached out to Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin and spoke to his close aide, as the CM is hospitalised due to Covid-19.
The CM summoned a meeting of MPs in Hyderabad on Saturday to finetune the party's strategy in Parliament and ask them to highlight the anti-Telangana policies of the BJP government.
The TRS MPs are again likely to take up the issue of paddy, which has become a political issue in the state in the past two years, and hold a protest alleging how the BJP has been "stalling" the development of Telangana.
The TRS MPs will also flag problems regarding the implementation of the NREGA (rural employment guarantee) scheme. "The state has emerged as a leader in paddy production in the last few years. Instead of encouraging the state, the Central government has deliberately been refusing to buy it, and misleading people. We will raise these issues," a TRS party functionary said. In the past, the TRS had supported many of the BJP's moves such as demonetisation, GST and the abrogation of Article 370, presidential and vice presidential candidates, but had opposed the farm laws.
Recently, while it did not attend the Opposition meet on presidential candidates, it supported its candidate Yashwant Sinha. Its aggressive stand against the BJP is because of the latter's growing presence in Telangana and KCR's own national ambitions.
