Cleaning of river can succeed if taken up religiously: UP Governor Ram Naik
Success could only be achieved when people religiously get involved in cleaning of Ganga and other rivers, the Governor said.

"Cleaning of river was a social work and success could be achieved only when the entire society including students and youths were associated," Naik said while addressing a national seminar on cleaning of Gomti river and the environment here.
He said Gomti was the identity of Lucknow and a joint resolve was needed to ensure that it remains clean.
Success could only be achieved when people religiously get involved in cleaning of Ganga and other rivers, the Governor said.
"Cleaning of rivers was combination of worship, faith and knowledge. While on one hand there was a need to create awareness among people, sense of responsibility in the society was also needed," he said, adding Ganga will become clean if Gomti is pollution free.
The Governor also felicitated persons associated with clean Gomti campaign and environment improvement.
