Clash between TMC supporters; police outpost ransacked

The clash broke out yesterday surrounding a dispute over fishing in a pond and the police were targeted by the villagers when they went to intervene.

SURI(WB): A clash broke out between two groups of Trinamool Congress supporters following which a police outpost under Khayrasole police station in Birbhum district was allegedly ransacked and a police vehicle damaged at Lokpur village, police said today.

The clash broke out yesterday surrounding a dispute over fishing in a pond and the police were targeted by the villagers when they went to intervene, they said.

Alok Rajouria, Superintendent of Police, Birbhum said, "A group of people broke into the outpost and ransacked the office. Stones were thrown on the wind-screen of a police van. Search is on to arrest the miscreants."
