New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday said he would appear before a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) review committee in connection with the withholding of the group's X account in India.

"Today at 3 PM, I will personally appear before the Review Committee of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology regarding the withholding of our account, @CJP_2029," Dipke said in a post on X.

According to reports, MeitY had asked Dipke to appear in person at its headquarters on Wednesday for a hearing related to the government's decision to block the CJP's account.

The development comes as Dipke continues to lead a sit-in protest by the CJP at Jantar Mantar, which entered its fifth day on Wednesday. The group has been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged examination irregularities and the NEET paper-leak controversy. Dipke has remained at the protest site and has refused to call off the agitation.

The digital satirical outfit gained significant traction on social media shortly after its launch on May 16, following a controversy surrounding remarks attributed to Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant that were widely interpreted as comparing unemployed youth to "cockroaches".

The group's original X handle was withheld in India on May 21. It subsequently returned to the platform through a new account named "Cockroach is Back".

As part of its ongoing campaign against the education minister, protesters on Tuesday organised a "diaper donation drive" at Jantar Mantar, demanding Pradhan's resignation. Later in the evening, Dipke shared a video from the protest showing demonstrators waving diapers and raising slogans of "Go Pradhan Go".

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Go Pradhan Go!<br/><br/>Day 4 at Jantar Mantar! <a href="https://t.co/v74Rxa2Ykw">pic.twitter.com/v74Rxa2Ykw</a></p>— Abhijeet Dipke (@abhijeet_dipke) <a href="https://x.com/abhijeet_dipke/status/2069439425868710178?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">June 23, 2026</a></blockquote> <script async="" src="https://platform.x.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
In another post on X, Dipke targeted Pradhan over student deaths allegedly linked to examination-related controversies. He said the students "did not die because of society, teachers, or parents," but due to recurring paper leaks and the repeated failures of the ministry. He asserted that responsibility for the crisis lies with the Education Minister, stating, "If anyone needs to take responsibility, it is you."

The CJP has said the protest will continue until Pradhan steps down.
