CID probes Mamata Banerjee’s alleged leg injury claim during the 2021 Assembly poll campaign, says West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari.
Adhikari claimed that a medical report from the state-run hospital he had showed no evidence of a fracture in Banerjee's leg following the incident in March 2021.
"Banerjee had maligned the people of Nandigram falsely, saying she was attacked by people of Nandigram during the 2021 assembly polls. She had claimed that her leg was broken during campaigning at that time. This is the report of the Department of Radio Diagnosis of Bangur Institute, dated March, 2021. There is no evidence of a fracture," Adhikari claimed, displaying "a medical report", while addressing a press conference at the state secretariat Nabanna.

"I will not comment on it as bypolls are there on Oct 6. I will speak on this after October 9," CM said today.
He said the state CID is already investigating the matter and the state government will launch a fresh probe after the assembly bypolls.
"I have seen the report and despite she being the Chief Minister at the time, the doctors wrote in the report that she had no fractures. Mamata Banerjee falsely blamed the people of Nandigram for attacking her and campaigned with on her legs," Adhikari said.
