Church gives clean chit to school, says Ruchika not expelled
CHANDIGARH: As Chandigarh administration began its probe into charges against Sacred Heart School for allegedly expelling Ruchika under the influence of S P S Rathore, the Chandigarh-Shimla Diocese on Thursday gave it a clean chit, saying that the school had not expelled Ruchika, and that her name was struck off because she had not paid fees for six months. The school comes under the jurisdiction of Chandigarh-Shimla Diocese.
This sparked off an angry retort from Ruchika’s father, Subhash Girhotra, who alleged that the school administration had categorically asked her not to enter the school after her name was taken off the rolls. ‘‘ After her name was struck off, we were told by school officials not to let Ruchika enter the school premises to prevent embarrassment . This amounts to expulsion,’’ said Girhotra. Father Thomas Anchanickal, Chandigarh Shimla Diocese spokesperson , who visited the school on Thursday, said: ‘‘ When school fees had not been deposited continuously for six months, between April and September 1990, her name was not carried forward on the rolls. She was never expelled from the school.’’

Haryana IG figures in Ashu’s complaint:

Haryana police IG K P Singh’s name figures in Ashu Girhotra’s fresh complaint against former DGP S P S Rathore. Ashu in his complaint alleged that Singh, who was Ambala SP at the time when he was tortured and six cases of auto theft were registered against him to harass the family, was a conspirator in the case. ‘‘ Singh helped Rathore create a hell-like situation for my sister, who ultimately committed suicide,’’ said Ashu.
