Chopper with Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis crash-lands in Latur, CM unhurt

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had a miraculous escape when a Helicopter in which he and other senior officials were travelling ‘crashed’ just a short while back.

The accident happened around at 11.59am. Fadnavis was touring development projects in rural areas in the state and the helicopter had just taken off from Nilanga in Latur to Mumbai when it developed a snag.

Eyewitness accounts in Latur said that the helicopter had just taken off when within a minute taken off, when the helicopter was around 50 foot high the chopper developed a snag and it came crashing down.

Our helicopter did meet with an accident in Latur but me and my team is absolutely safe and ok.

On its way down the chopper also hit an electric pole.

According to top state government officials, the helicopter developed a snag when it was on its descent and was about to land when it crashed. Fortunately, Fadnavis and others in the aircraft were also not hurt. Fadnavis was however checked by doctors who gave him a clean bill of health.

The Maharashtra CM has told media channels about his ‘safety’. “ I am fine and safe, with the blessings of the people in the state.” said Fadnavis while speaking to the media.
