Chit fund scam: CBI searches at 58 places in Maharashtra, Odisha

NEW DELHI; Tightening its noose around fraudulent chit fund companies, CBI today conducted searches at over 50 locations across Maharashtra and Odisha.

The searches were conducted on the basis of two cases registered by CBI against a Pune-based private group which allegedly collected money from people illegally, official sources said.

The searches were conducted at 58 locations including Pune, Nasik, Aurgangabad and Solapur.

The official and residential premises of the firm's promoters were also searched, they said.
