UFA, RUSSIA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday told Chinese President XI Jinping that Beijing's support to Pakistan in United Nations over Lakhvi's release was unacceptable.

The Chinese President on his part suggested to PM Modi that the two countries should have "extended" discussions over the issue of Lakhvi and terrorism.

PM Modi and XI Jinping had a 85-minute long meeting that saw in depth discussion covering all aspects of bilateral relations, the MEA said after the meeting.

"There is a sense of new energy in India-China relationship," the MEA said after the talks.

"Yes, the issue of China's support to Pak over Lakhvi did come up, PM did raise our concerns," foreign secretary S Jaishankar told reporters .

The two leaders also discussed the border situation in detail, the foreign secretary said.

"Great meeting President Xi Jinping again. Our talks were comprehensive and a lot of topics came up for discussion," PM Modi tweeted.
