UFA: India today said China's reaction on the Lakhvi issue makes it clear that the point Prime Minister Narendra Modi made to President Xi Jinping has been "registered".

"The Chinese side is aware of our concerns," sources said.

When asked to comment on China's reaction on today's defence proposed by the Chinese side of blocking India's move at the UN to take action against Pakistan on the release of Mumbai attack mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Vikas Swarup said: "The fact that they have reacted means that the point that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made yesterday has been registered."

China defended its step at the UN Sanctions Committee last month, saying it was based on "facts" and in the spirit of "objectiveness and fairness".

The country had cited "weak evidence" theory for blocking India's move following which Modi yesterday "strongly" and "clearly" conveyed concerns to President Xi.

India has rejected the "weak evidence" pretext propounded by Beijing in this regard.
