NEW DELHI: It was another chilly morning in the national capital today as icy winds swept the city while early morning fog disrupted rail and air traffic, delaying 25 trains and 7 flights.

"The minimum temperature recorded this morning was 9 degree Celsius, two notches above the normal for this part of the year," a MeT official said.

The visibility at 8.30 AM was 500 metres while the humidity was recorded at 97 per cent, the official added.

Early morning fog affected the operations of 25 north- bound trains including Rewa express, Purshottam Express, Magadh Express and others which were running late by several hours, a Northern Railway official said.

According to the airport authorities, 7 flights were delayed due to fog.

The weatherman has predicted a mainly clear sky during the day with maximum temperature expected to settle at 21 degrees Celsius.

Yesterday, the mercury had settled at 20.7 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 7.8 degrees Celsius.
