Chief Minister Yediyurappa says Bengaluru will host Aero India with strict COVID-19 measures in place

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government is gearing up to host the 13th edition of Aero India in February 2021, by taking all necessary safety precautions amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said.

He was briefing about the state’s preparations for the air show at the Ambassadors’ Round Table virtual summit that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired on Wednesday.

“We are formulating standard operating procedures to ensure the safety of international delegates, participating dignitaries and the general public. Norms of thermal screening, sanitisation and social distancing will be observed in all locations inside and outside the venue,” the CM said.


Yediyurappa said it was a proud moment for Bengaluru to be chosen to host the aero show, after successfully organising the event 12 times in the past. The 13th edition of Aero India will be held from February 3 to 7.

The CM said there has been a tremendous response to the airshow despite the pandemic. “Nearly 90% of the space that was open for stalls is provisionally booked/blocked,” he said.
