Chief Minister of Assam makes a pitch for investments from Tamil Nadu

The road show was followed by meetings with industry leaders including Murugappa Group Chairman A Vellayan and Apollo Hospitals Chairman Dr. Prathap Reddy. “Wide ranging discussions on the investment opportunities in the state were held with the Industry leaders. They have shown a keen interest in the state and we are looking forward to their visit to Assam”, said a statement from the Government of Assam.
Chief Minister Sonowal also invited the Tamil Film Industry to use the locales of Assam to shoot movies. He said that the State Government offers an attractive set of incentives for film makers apart from picturesque locations.
The summit scheduled to be held on 3rd and 4th of February 2018 intends to position Assam as the springboard for India’s Act East Policy. The focus of the Summit would be on emerging areas such as IT and ITes, Plastics and Petrochemicals, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Equipment, Power, Tourism Hospitality and Wellness, Healthcare, Skill Development, River Transport and Port Township, Road Infrastructure, Urban Infrastructure, Handloom, Textiles and Handicrafts, Education, Industrial Infrastructure, Agriculture and Food Processing including Organic Cultivation and Bamboo.
