Chidambaram refutes Advani’s claims

Keen to defend his government against L K Advani���s charge that not enough was done to uncover the illicit money stashed away in secret accounts in Swiss banks and the German LTG Bank in Liechtenstein, Union home minister P Chidambaram on Monday insisted that the finance ministry was in touch with the German authorities to get the concerned details.

He said that the government was seized of the matter and had written to the Federal Central Tax Office, Bonn, in February 2008 itself seeking information, reports Our Political Bureau from New Delhi.
