Chidambaram likely to be made TNCC chief
Chidambaram has set a few conditions for taking up the task including rejuvenating the party and expanding its base by bringing the warring factions together.

A tall leader like Chidambaram, recently elected to the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra, is seen by the Congress high command as a much needed tonic for the party to prepare for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections to unseat the BJP. Asked if he was in the reckoning, Chidambaram told TOI, "Please ask AICC." It has been more than a month since E V K S Elangovan resigned assuming moral responsibility for the party's poor show in the poll and the TNCC has remained headless.
