NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Sunday demanded that Tamil Nadu government arrest those behind the violence in the TNCC headquarters in Chennai.
"I expect the state government to arrest those behind the mischief," he said.
Supporters of pro-LTTE party Viduthalai Siruthaigal (VCK) had yesterday allegedly indulged in stone pelting at the Satyamurthy Bhavan, the headquarters of the PCC in Chennai.
Congress provides key outside support to the DMK government in Tamil Nadu. VCK, a minor, is also an ally of DMK.
The VCK men also clashed with Congress workers, who had gone under the leadership of PCC President K V Thangkabalu to Theni near Madurai to lodge a protest against VCK leaders' speeches in support of LTTE and criticising late Rajiv Gandhi.
