The Chhattisgarh government on Tuesday told the Supreme Court that it now wanted to investigate an FIR filed against several members of the academia, including Nandini Sundar. The FIR was filed in 2016 by the wife of a tribal allegedly killed by Maoists. The FIR claims that the tribal man was killed after he complained about Sundar and some others, including JNU professor Archana Prasad, Vineet Tiwari of Delhi’s Joshi Adhikar Sansthan and Sanjay Parate (Chhattisgarh CPM state secretary), regarding the murder of Shamnath Baghel on November 4, 2016. In a fresh application filed in court, Sundar contended that the state had not probed the case for over two years now, and urged the court to delete her name from the FIR.
