Chhattisgarh polls: Ajit Jogi's wife, son file nomination papers

RAIPUR: The wife and son of former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi are among 169 aspirants, including state ministers, who filed their nomination papers today for the second phase of the Assembly elections due next month.

Prominent among those who filed their papers on the fifth day are state ministers Nankiram Kanwar and Rajesh Munat, and Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Ravindra Choubey.

Chhattisgarh is going to polls in two phases on November 11 and November 19.

72 constituencies spread over 16 districts will go to polls in the second phase for which 322 nominations have been filed so far, Additional Chief Electoral Officer DD Singh told reporters here.

Jogi's wife Renu will contest from Kota and his son Amit from Marwahi.

Kanawar will fight the elections from Rampur constituency, Munat from Raipur city west and Choubey from Saja seat.
