Chhattisgarh govt responsible for Naxal attack: Amar Singh

UJJAIN: Rashtriya Lok Manch president and former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh today alleged that the Naxal attack on Congress' convoy in Chhattisgarh was the fallout of lapses on part of Raman Singh government in providing security.

"Raman Singh must be held responsible for the attack which was caused by security failure during the rally," Singh told reporters after visiting famous Mahakal temple here.

Singh was accompanied by actress-turned-politician and former SP leader Jayaprada.

"No proper security arrangements were made during the Congress' Parivartan Yatra...It (the attack) was the failure of agencies looking after law and order," he alleged.

As many as 27 people, including Chhattisgarh unit Congress chief Nandkumar Patel, party veteran Mahendra Karma, were killed and 36 others injured in the lethal Naxal ambush on the party's Parivartan Yatra in Sukma district on Saturday.
