Chhattisgarh govt ATM for Gandhi family, says Amit Shah

Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Congress regime in Chhattisgarh, terming it a government full of corruption and scams.

While releasing a booklet of allegations called 'Aarop Patra' against the Bhupesh Baghel government in the state, Shah said only the BJP could work for the betterment of Chhattisgarh.

"The Congress made 36 promises and out of that 19 remained unfulfilled. What happened to the promise of liquor prohibition? The only industry flourishing under Baghel government is the transfer-posting industry," Shah said during his speech.


The state's money is being looted by the Congress government and is getting transferred to Delhi, he alleged.

"Bhupesh Baghel has made Chhattisgarh an ATM for the Gandhi family in Delhi and the entire government is busy with corruption," he said. "The state was created by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and was nurtured by the BJP and I can tell you that now the BJP will free the state from the clutches of corruption, scam and dynasty politics," he added.

Shah heaped praises on former state CM Raman Singh and the work done by the BJP during his 15-year rule.

Shah said it was the Raman Singh government which ensured every poor got rice. "Whenever I came to Chhattisgarh from Gujarat, I found that Raman Singh was known as 'chawal wale baba', who ensured rice to every poor family in the state. It is the Baghel government which has stolen the rice from the people's kitchen," he said.

Shah said during the BJP government, the state became a hub for education, cement, power, steel and aluminium.
