Chavan reviews Congress' preparations ahead of E-day

Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Wednesday reviewed the party's preparations for polling in ten Lok Sabha seats, in Mumbai and neighboring Thane, along with senior Congress leaders here.

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Wednesday reviewed the party's preparations for polling in ten Lok Sabha seats, in Mumbai and neighboring Thane, along with senior Congress leaders here.

State unit president Manikrao Thakre, Mumbai Congress president Kripashankar Singh and other senior leaders met today to take stock of the preparations, Congress sources said.

Party candidates and functionaries have completed booth management arrangements in their respective constituencies. Chavan has appealed people to come out and vote in large numbers, they said.

Congress is contesting in seven of the ten seats that will go to polls in the third phase tomorrow.

Chavan and other leaders exuded confidence of a favourable response to the party in these seats and said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi's rallies in Mumbai and Thane district has bolstered the morale of the rank and file.
