Charges framed against badal, wife

The charges, under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC, were read out by Special Judge.

Rupnagar: In a jolt to Parkash Singh Badal just a week after taking over as Chief Minister, a local court today framed charges against him in a disproportionate assets case.
Charges were also framed against his his wife Surinder Kaur, son Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is an MP, and seven others.
The charges, under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC, were read out by Special Judge G S Saran against the Badal and his family members who had been granted exemption from personal appearance on Wednesday.
