MUMBAI: The Maharashtra ATS today filed a charge sheet against three persons, suspected to be members of Indian Mujahideen and Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), in a fake currency case.

"The charge sheet was filed against Asrar Ahmed Abdul Hamid Tailor, a computer trainer; his friend Haroon Rashid Abdul Hamid Naik, and another person named Abdul," said defence lawyer Sheriff Sheikh.

The charge sheet contains 4,000 pages, Sheikh said, adding he was yet to get its copy.

The accused were booked under sections 489 B (using counterfeit currency notes) and 489 C (possession of counterfeit currency-notes) of IPC and relevant sections of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.

Tailor and the other two were arrested two months ago from the city. They had also been questioned about their suspected involvement in the July 13 Mumbai blasts.
