Chandrasekhar takes over as Cabinet Sec

KM Chandrasekhar assumed charge as the Union Cabinet Secretary on Wednesday.

NEW DELHI: KM Chandrasekhar assumed charge as the Union Cabinet Secretary on Wednesday. He belongs to the 1970 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (Kerala Cadre).

Prior to this, he held a number of important positions in the Government of Kerala as well as in the Government of India with the latest one being the Revenue Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.

He also held the posts of Ambassador & Permanent Representative of India to the World Trade Organisation, Geneva; Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Brussels; Joint Secretary (Trade Policy Division) in the Ministry of Commerce and Chairman, Spices Board of India.
