Chandrababu Naidu to sign California as sister state of Andhra Pradesh

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will sign an agreement with California, Iowa and Illinois as sister states of AP, apart from exploring investment opportunities with US giants Tesla, Apple, Google, Cisco and Oracle, among others, during his US tour.

Naidu, who is leaving for US on a seven day visit on Thursday with a delegation of his cabinet colleagues and senior officials, will meet the leaders in the fields of information technology, financial technology, agriculture and education, among others.

In all, the AP high level delegation will interact with around 300 CEOs to explore business and technology transfer opportunities in the areas of IT, fintech agricultural research, innovation and smart technologies, among others with California, Iowa and Illinois.

Naidu, who will receive 2017 US-India Business Council’s ‘Transformative Chief Minister Award’ in California on May 8, will lead the delegation to automobile giant Tesla’s factory in Fremont, San Francisco.

Apart from signing an agreement with the government of California on global climate, Naidu will visit the campuses of technology giants in the Silicon Valley to invite them to Andhra to invest.

The Andhra Pradesh chief minister will attend the dinner meeting being hosted by the Executive Chairman of Cisco, John Chambers, at latter’s residence on the penultimate day of the visit, apart from meetings at Stanford University and Franklin Templeton’s office.
