Chandrababu Naidu chosen as TDP chief for 15th year

N Chandrababu Naidu was unanimously re-elected president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) here today at the concluding day of the party's three-day annual conference, 'Mahanadu.'

HYDERABAD: N Chandrababu Naidu was unanimously re-elected president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) here today at the concluding day of the party's three-day annual conference, 'Mahanadu.'

This is for the 15th consecutive year that Chandrababu Naidu has been chosen by the party as its chief. He has now surpassed party's founder president and his father-in-law N T Rama Rao, who held the TDP reins for 14 years between 1982 and 1996.

In all, 21 sets of nominations were filed in favour of Chandrababu Naidu for the party president's election.

Adilabad MP Ramesh Rathod, who was the election officer, formerly announced Chandrababu Naidu's election this afternoon amidst a huge applause by the party rank and file.

Film actor and his brother-in-law N Balakrishna, who was by his side when the election was announced, was the first to congratulate Naidu followed by senior leaders Yerran Naidu and others.

Naidu cut the cake on the occasion and received greetings personally from scores of party workers.
