A two-seater Cessna crashed in Hyderabad on Monday, killing a trainee pilot and an instructor, on board.

NEW DELHI: A two-seater Cessna crashed in Hyderabad on Monday, killing a trainee pilot and an instructor, on board.
The Cessna 152 aircraft crashed in the Sanath Nagar west area as soon as it took off from Begumpet airport. The aircraft belonged to the Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy. The aircraft crashed into an electric pole in a residential area.

One resident also got injured in the crash. The aircraft reportedly caught flames as soon as it crashed, which led to the trainee pilot's death on the spot. The instructor, who was flying along with the trainee, succumbed on his way to the Gandhi hospital. The bureau of Aviation Security was present at the mishap and took eyewitness accounts.
SN Reddy, CEO of Andhra Pradesh Aviation Academy, spoke soon after the incident and said, "This incident happened when the aircraft was approaching to land. The same flight had safe landings earlier today."

Dismissing reports that there could be a technical fault he added, "The incident has happened due to human error and not technical fault. This has happened when the flight was about to land and there could have been some obstacle, which forced the incident."
