West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday claimed that the Centre was yet to clear MGNREGA dues worth Rs 6,000 crore. The chief minister said that Union ministers were informed about it during the Namami Gange meeting last Friday.

When asked if she had again raised the issue with the Centre, Banerjee said: “I have written to the prime minister thrice.

Now, his mother has passed away and he is in a mourning period. But last Friday, during a National Ganga Council meeting in Kolkata, I informed the (Union) ministers about dues worth Rs 6,000 crore.”

She also raised the issue of “cooperative federalism” and claimed that there was “non-cooperation”.
