Centre will compensate Punjab farmers hit by deficient rains: Harsimrat Kaur Badal
Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said government at Centre had promised to give adequate compensation to Punjab farmers affected by deficient monsoon.

Talking to reporters after a public rally here, Harsimrat said the Prime Minister and the Union Agriculture Minister had assured her and the Punjab Chief Minister that compensation would be given after assessing the actual loss to farmers after the paddy season was over.
"They have assured us to compensate farmers adequately for the deficit rainfall received in various parts of Punjab as the state's farmers were making strenuous efforts and spending extra money on diesel and other inputs to sustain their Kharif crops," she said.
Harsimrat also promised to bring in revolution in the Food Processing Sector and industry in the state with the help of the central government.
"The SAD-BJP government in the state would ensure all-round development and prosperity with full help from the Union government," she said, while canvassing for SAD-BJP candidate for Talwandi Sabo by-election Jeet Mohinder Sidhu.
Appealing to the electorate to vote for the SAD-BJP alliance for a better future, Harsimrat promised that the NDA government would ensure development of agro-based food processing industry, manufacturing and textiles sectors in the state to create abundant employment opportunities for the youth.
