Centre to set up corporate governance institute

The Government will shortly set up Indian Institute of Corporate Governance at Manesar in Haryana to impart knowledge about the governing norms, relating particularly to shareholders' interest.

NEW DELHI: The Government will shortly set up Indian Institute of Corporate Governance at Manesar in Haryana to impart knowledge about the governing norms, relating particularly to shareholders' interest.
The proposed institute would draw representatives from the industry, corporate world, government departments and legal luminaries on its autonomous board, Company Affairs Secretary Anurag Goel said at an Assocham programme on independent directors here on Tuesday.
Goel said the government would soon introduce the Company Bill in Parliament. The proposed amendment in the legislation would be simple with minimum clauses.
