Centre to hold one-day workshop on e-governance initiatives

NEW DELHI: A day-long workshop to train employees on various e-governance initiatives including Digital India will be organised next month by the Centre.

"The aim of the workshop is to generate awareness about the various provisions of e-governance and to enable the government functionaries to delineate their role in the effective implementation of the programme," an order by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said.

The workshop, to be held on August 28, will cover IT infrastructure and e-governance related best and innovative practices. The participants will also be briefed on National Optic Fiber Network (NoFN) and Digital India, etc. "The workshop will be highly informative and interactive," it said.

The workshop, being conducted by the Institute of Secretariat Training & Management in collaboration with the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems - an autonomous organisation, is intended for officers of the level of Section Officers and above of central government ministries and their attached or subordinate offices.
