The Centre has convened a meeting with top Maharashtra officials to take stock of the se-curity arrangements in place for August 15.

NEW DELHI: With Mumbai continuing to be high on the list of terrorist targets, more so with Independence Day round the corner, the Centre has convened a meeting with top Maharashtra officials to take stock of the se-curity arrangements in place for August 15.

The meeting, to be chaired by Union home secretary VK Duggal and attended by Maharashtra chief secretary D Sankaran, DGP PS Pasricha and chief of Anti-Terrorist Squad KP Raghuvanshi, besides IB director ESL Narasimhan, will also review the progress of investigations into the 7/11 Mumbai blasts.

Mumbai, according to sources in the Union home ministry, continues to be a prime terror target as per the latest intelligence inputs.
